Horizon House Golf Day was a resounding success, due mainly, to the incredible support from our Sponsors. Your generosity lays the foundation for making this a special day.
Our Golf Day has become a highlight on the Stellenbosch Golf Club’s annual calendar. The quality of the prizes, the organizational level and the delicious snacks and dinner all contribute to a top-quality Golf Day.
On the actual day a certain magic happens – the players open their hearts and pockets. They know they are in for a very special experience which begins with registration, coffee and sandwiches and of course, the ladies selling raffle tickets, which the players purchase in great quantities, bantering between themselves. And so, the day proceeds with treats and snacks and happiness and laughter.
The evening function is eagerly anticipated with its excellent meal, good wines, wonderful prizes and a chance to bid on the auction items. The bidding is lusty and exciting and unbelievably gracious. It is not unusual for a bidder to be awarded the final bid, only to re-donated the item for immediate re-auction! And it doesn’t stop there, some golfers who did not win an auction item, make private donations to Horizon House the next day.
None of this magic would happen without your generosity – you help to set the scene, which in turn inspires the Golfers to spend and give generously.
