Sponsor a person with a primary intellectual disability

Horizon House has 16 residents who require financial support. They do not have any support base (e.g. family or caregivers), or the means to contribute financially to their monthly expenses, and are wholly dependent on the centre.

13 of these residents have been living at Horizon house for over 20 years, and one person has lived in Horizon House since the day the centre’s doors opened in 1974 (48 years), and this is the only home they know.

The residential care at Horizon House is highly specialized in the holistic care of people who are primary intellectually disabled. If we do not keep on housing and caring for these individuals, they will have nowhere to go, where they can receive the necessary care, and no means to survive because they are vulnerable and cannot care for themselves.

We require financial support for the people in this group.

Your monthly donation of R6 850, or a once-off yearly payment of R82 200, will help cover one person’s basic living costs or a year, and ensure that they will be cared for holistically, where their individual needs are met, where they can develop to their full potential as individuals, and can live better, more meaningful, and dignified life.

All donations are tax deductible and you will be issued with an Article 18A tax certificate for your contribution.
