The popular Horison Challenge Trail Run, with options of 3km, 5km and 10km, will take place again on the morning of 7 November in Stellenbosch. The race is suitable for serious athletes to families and fun runners. The race will be timed.

The race start and finish will be at the Huis Horison Kermis, with race start at 07:00. The route passes through Huis Horison property, the surrounding vineyards, and the 5km and 10km routes loops through Middelvlei Wine Farm with spectacular views.  After the race, there is a fantastic selection of traditional meals to indulge in, activities for the children, and stalls with unique and quality items for sale. Don’t miss the trail run, and especially not the Kermis!

Goodie bags for the first 200 entries (pre-entries only) and medals for 10km finishers.

Parking and Entrance

  • Unfortunately, no parking is available inside. Parking in designated event parking space (follow parking signs)
  • Entrance through Huis Horison Entrance 2. The trail run registration start is on your right once you have entered the grounds.

NEW! PLEASE NOTE: This year, Horison Challenge Trail Run registrations and late entries will take place the evening before, on Friday 16:00 – 19:00 at the venue. 

There will be live music, food stall, beer and wine, so be sure to spend a bit of time and enjoy the vibe.

*NO LATE ENTRIES OR REGISTRATIONS SATURDAY MORNING BEFORE THE RACE*.

Rules

  • Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • Unfortunately, NO DOGS allowed on the 5km and 10km trial run as the race takes place on a farm with its own dogs.
  • Dogs are welcome at the Kermis, as long as they are people friendly, and no dogs inside Village Thyme or the food tent.
  • Please pickup after your dog!
