The Propagation team is based at the nursery behind the Centre.
Established in 2020, this area has since been expanded to include 15 raised beddings in which various vegetables and herbs are cultivated in our own food garden.
The aim is to make the centre more sustainable and reduce the cost of buying in vegetables. Vegetables harvested are used in the kitchen, or sold, or donated to Stellenbosch Werkssentrum.
The greenhouse/hardening off facility is used for propagating new plants, ranging from herbs, to landscaping plants to beautifully potted succulents. These plants are either used for the landscaping around the centre, or sold to the public. The Plant stall at the annual kermis is a firm favourite!
We gladly accept all form of plant donations, and also tidy pots and tins that can help us make a gift-worthy potted plant to be sold to raise funds.
